TTB Programs Reach Italian Prisoners

One of Trans World Radio’s Italian ministry partners is Circuito Radio Cristiane (CRC) – a small ministry that trains volunteers to produce religious programming. A recent report from CRC gave this encouraging testimony of Thru the Bible’s influence in Italian prisons:

“Back in 1990, a man named Roberto attended one of our training courses, but he never started making programs on the radio. We didn’t hear from him at all until June 2008 when he phoned to tell us that now he is a pastor of an evangelical church and also is ministering in a high-security prison in the Milan area. He finds Thru the Bible, which is on the air on commercial stations, very helpful for many prisoners and is publicizing it. Recently a new inmate named Antonio came to his prison. Antonio, faithfully listens to TTB and had been in contact with us for years. He was close to giving his life to Christ before he was transferred into the prison where Roberto holds a group of about 40 converts. When pastor Roberto contacted Antonio through the mediation of our volunteer at his former prison, Antonio was ready to accept the Lord, and he now walks with Jesus. Antonio has an aunt in Sicily, a fine Christian lady. After leading Antonio to the Lord, Roberto phoned this lady straightaway to tell her about her nephew. She burst into tears, as she had just been praying that Antonio may get saved! The aunt’s prayers were not in vain, just as our training courses to young people who may never become radio producers are not in vain. TTB has brought many in contact with the gospel so that harvest can take place – even if it is many years later in people like Antonio. It all started by listening to a Christian radio program in a prison in Italy!”
