| A Word From Our President | |
As many of you already know, in June we completed our transition from two buildings into one newly-renovated facility. Our old situation had our staff divided: Some worked in the office building on the north side of our tree-lined street here in Pasadena, and others worked in a large warehouse across the street and just down the block. Both buildings were in need of costly structural and technological upgrades, and both were much larger than what our small staff required. After much thought, prayer, and consultation with experts, the decision was made to completely renovate our warehouse – keeping a smaller storage and order fulfillment space in the back half and turning the front portion into an updated and modern office space. It was a long and arduous process, but the building is now complete and we are all working and functioning under one roof! Longtime friends and supporters of this ministry know well Dr. McGee’s commitment to frugality and using wisely any and all resources provided by our gracious Father through the sacrificial giving of our listeners. Since his passing, the leadership of Thru the Bible has made sure the ministry remains true to that high standard set by our founder. We strive at every opportunity to economize and spend carefully every dollar God gives us. Financing for this renovation was taken temporarily from the ministry’s reserve funds and will be replenished (possibly as much as twofold) upon the sale of our old office building. By consolidating our two facilities, we’ve successfully reduced our ongoing maintenance costs. And with our completely upgraded technology, we’ll be better able to serve the needs of our listeners both now and far into the future. Meanwhile our worldwide ministry continues to flourish, thanks to the provision and blessings of our great God. Our radio and Internet broadcasting continue to expand, with several new language productions currently on the table. As God opens doors and provides the resources to go through them, we will step out in obedience and trust that He will bless His Word and see it spread to the far corners of the globe. We thank you, as always, for your prayers and for your continued patience during the transition and implementation of our new software. Please continue to bring us before the Father. Change is a learning process for everyone involved – for all of our staff members as well as the listeners and supporters we strive to serve – and your prayers at this time that our moving and growing pains would be minimal are greatly and humbly appreciated. |
